Is Twitter Advertising Better than Google AdSense?
As far as advertising over the internet is concerned, there is no match to Google AdSense. Millions of websites serving billions of pages show Trillions of AdSense ads per day. If you are a blogger and y our application for joining the AdSense program is approved, you must be fairly excited about earning a fortune from Google. But is it really going to happen?
Soon, you will realize that it is far more difficult than just putting ads on your blog and get the cash in your pocket. Getting decent traffic to your website, having high percentage of unique and re-visits, getting low bounce rates is a tough job. And that too all for what? A Click-Through Rate (CTR) of 1%? And what do you get from 1 click of 100 page views? 0.3$?
That is pathetic. If you log in your AdSense account regularly, you must have seen on the Log-In page, a link to success stories. There, real success stories of many website owners are published. They talk about earning 1000’s of dollars per day from AdSense. But have you ever thought why there are only a few stories there and that too never change even when there is an option for submitting your own success story? Why would someone who is successful with AdSense not want to appreciate AdSense and write a success story about his success (And get a free link on a very highly visited page on Google)?
That’s because, only a few people actually “Succeed” with AdSense. I want to clarify here that success here is not earning say 100$ a month. Almost all bloggers and website owners who maintain their blog and update daily can reach that Goal. With success, I mean earning a decent amount of money so that you actually don’t have to work. There are only a few of them out there.
On the other hand, there is this buzz of Twitter Advertising. How much potential can it have? Is is better than AdSense?
For me, definitely YES. I believe for any average blogger who wants to collect a little extra cash in his pocket without much of hard work, Twitter is much a better place to earn than AdSense.
But how?
There are many advertising platforms available for twitter. e.g. SPONSORED TWEETS, BE-A-MAGPIE, AD.LY etc etc. Most of them offer (on an average) 1$ per advertising tweet per 1000 followers per day (for pay per view ads which is what I use). Are you thinking it is less?
Let’s say you have 5000 followers. So you get 5$ per tweet per day per advertiser. If you have 5 such advertisers, then your earnings will be 25$ per day. That is 750$ per month. That’s 7.5 times than AdSense. And how much do you have to work? Just post 5 tweets per day and you can post an Ad Tweet. Those 5 tweets can be anything. The best part is that you don’t even need a website. Just a twitter account will do. I think it is a much more rewarding way to earn cash.
And don’t worry about losing your followers. If you tweet quality content, you will always get decent followers no matter how many ads you post per day.
I feel, Twitter has opened a huge doorway for part-time bloggers (like me) to earn much more from our efforts than we were previously. Thanks to all these advertising solutions. Now forget about putting a paypal “DONATE” button on your blog and start cashing your tweets. For me, twitter rocks!!! What about you?
